What talgeo reads, why, where it lives, and how it gets deleted. This page is both our privacy policy and our data-processing commitment to every merchant who installs the app. Last updated 17 July 2026.
Talgeo's job is to show you how AI assistants see your store and what that's worth. To do that, with your authorization through the Shopify app install, we process:
What we don't process: your customers' names, emails, phone numbers, or addresses. Our order queries never request those fields, and nothing customer-identifying is stored. Stored attribution is aggregate only — counts and revenue, not people.
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest, hosted on DigitalOcean managed infrastructure. Access is restricted to the talgeo operators who run the service.
To measure your AI visibility we send store content (your catalog and category questions — never order data, never customer data) to the AI engines we test against, e.g. OpenAI and Google. Those transcripts become your receipts.
We keep your store's data while the app is installed, because the product is a running ledger. When you uninstall, Shopify's redaction webhook triggers deletion of your store's stored data. You can also ask us to delete everything at any time — one email.
We act as a processor on your behalf for the limited order aggregates above. We never sell data, never use it for advertising, and never contact your customers. Shopify's customer redaction requests (GDPR) are honored automatically — since we store nothing customer-identifying, there is nothing to surface, and we acknowledge every request.
